It is good to have an end to journey toward;
but it is the journey that matters, in the end.

How you live today
affects all your tomorrows.
Remember that turning down
the wrong road is part of the journey,
and finding the way back
is your challenge.
Remember that if you keep love
close to your heart,
home will never be far away.
There will be expectations not met,
promises lost, tears,
and moments of despair.
Remember, however,
to be grateful for the sunshine
and to find hope in the rainbow.
Remember to laugh from your soul
and always hold on to your dreams.

Last Monday I was honored to help kick off the 1999 Wisconsin 4H Youth
Leadership Conference. I was excited to be around 600 youth from around
the state who were enthusiastic and curious about leadership, not to
mention the 100 adults who give a part of their lives to help these young
people grow into their leadership potential. Did you ever wonder what the
Hs in 4H are? These leaders pledge their:
Heads to clearer thinking,
Hearts to greater loyalty,
Hands for greater service, and
Health for better living.
Sounds like a pretty good pledge for us all, eh? Which one are you going
to work on this week (FIRST WEEK OF SUMMER!)? Enjoy the sunshine and enjoy
today!
