PONDER
Confession: I spent a few minutes being really (really) tough on myself last week.
While uploading last week’s Ripples to Mailchimp, I forgot to include the Boulder’s attribution. Double cringe: the quote was written and submitted by a longtime Rippler, and featuring wisdom from within our community is always an extra hoot for me.
Luckily, it wasn’t long before assembling this issue gave me a reason to lighten up. I was grinning wide before I even opened the file where I keep paired-up quotes for future Rippling, because I remembered the little note I had written at the top several months ago:
“Don’t forget the pair of quotes on imperfection
waiting for me to goof something up.”
I knew it was time to share them with you….and there’s something extra fun about both quotes coming from quirky characters from two of my favorite television shows. It just makes it easier for me to lighten up and laugh and then let it go.
So thank you to Mindy of Stoughton, Wisconsin for being such a good sport about this particular error, and to everyone who has gracefully overlooked the (many, many) typos and other goofs that have mysteriously found their way into these weekly splashes since 1999. If you’ve been giving yourself a hard time about a recent goof, perhaps you could save a little of that grace for yourself, too.
