Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is a beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is costly, care for it.
Life is wealth, keep it.
Life is love, enjoy it.
Life is mystery, know it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it!

PONDER ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Whew! Another vocally-challenging week has passed. In addition to another
workshop for 911 dispatchers and a college student senate banquet keynote,
I spent an AMAZING day with 350 students from 10 Sheboygan County
(Wisconsin) high schools at a very special conference on diversity. The
title of the event was “Opening our Minds, Opening our Hearts” and it was
my job to help open THEIR minds and hearts with three speeches and three
workshops.

By the end of the day it was MY head and heart that were filled with new
thoughts and emotions about today’s youth. These bright young minds were
incredibly respectful and had lots of questions about why our society
doesn’t seem to celebrate differences. They were able to translate the
awful experiences of Littleton, Colorado and Matthew Sheppard’s violent
death in Laramie, Wyoming into urgent cries for diversity education.

I had walked into the auditorium wondering if they could accept someone who
was really “different” and I walked out wondering why I had been nervous at
all! GOOD NEWS for the future of our country: I have seen our new leaders
and they are filled with Life!

Peace to you, and thank you for your many positive words about last week’s
Ripples!
