Ripples #1292: Leap, Laugh, Love!

PEBBLE

People often ask me what is the most effective technique for transforming their life. It is a little embarrassing that after years and years of research and experimentation, I have to say that the best answer is: just be a little kinder.

BOULDER

The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join the fight to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.

PONDER

Last week in Ripples we were Preparing to Leap.
Since this Thursday, February 29th, is Leap Day, that means it is almost time to LEAP and LAUGH and LOVE!

My friend Coach Colene and I dreamed up a challenge to Embrace the Extra Day with a commitment to do something BOLD, CHEERFUL, and HEARTFELT:

BOLD: stepping out of your comfort zone and into your growth zone by mixing up your usual routine or trying something new.
CHEERFUL: lifting yourself and others up by sharing something that is likely to spread smiles, giggles, or general merriment
HEARTFELT: showing your love in some meaningful way, whiether it is directed inward toward yourself or outward towards others

We created an info page to explore the idea a little more, and you can also watch this video to get a better sense of what we’re hoping will unfold. We even whipped up a set of upbeat quotes you can print out and distribute if you’d like.

The goal is to keep this simple and fun. If you’re feeling too overwhelmed to participate, do us all a favor and find a whole minute when you can pause, take a few deep breaths (HERE on the inhale, NOW on the exhale) and ponder, “What is something bold, cheerful, and/or heartfelt that might help ME feel a little extra special this week?”

Peace,
Paul
P.S. If you are joining us for these Leap Day shenanigans, be sure to use the #LeapLaughLove hashtag on social media so we can keep track of all the good stuff going on!
