When it feels scary to jump, that is exactly when you jump; otherwise you end up staying in the same place your whole life.

One of the great balancing acts in life is to be cautious and daring at the same time. Cautious enough to avoid stupid mistakes, prevent burnout, and maintain a margin of safety. Daring enough to bet on yourself, to do the things you would regret leaving undone, and to be willing to be uncomfortable in the short term so you can learn and grow in the long term.

A few weeks ago, my friend Amy Ackermann wrote about the upcoming Leap Day in her monthly newsletter. The title, When Time Expands, What Leap Will You Take? was clearly an invitation, a challenge, a call to action. I was 100% in and immediately put a note on my calendar for Thursday, February 29: “Make it Special!”
The next step: reaching out to another friend, Coach Colene, to ask if she’d be up for doing something fun together that day. Our initial brainstorming about how to create a magical day for the two of us quickly expanded into Leap, Laugh, Love: an Invitation to Embrace the Extra Day. We’re hoping to engage others who will commit to do something BOLD, something CHEERFUL, and/or something HEARTFELT next Thursday, February 29th. Are you in?
I know many folks won’t be able to completely step out of their jampacked lives and devote 24 hours to this challenge; still, I’m wondering if this might spark some intrigue and get you pondering, “How can I do something that day to make it a little Extra?”
I’ll have more to say next week (you can peek here https://bit.ly/leaplaughlove for more info). If you already know you’re in, shoot me an email at Leap@TheRipplesGuy.com so I can send you a couple of ideas and inspiration in the days leading up to Leap Day. I want to make it easy and fun for you to #LeapLaughLove.
I’ll ask it again: Are you in?
Peace,
Paul
