The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by
the compassionate actions of its members,a heart of grace, and
a soul generated by love.

When evil men plot, good men plan.
When evil men bomb and burn,
good men must build and bind.
When evil men shout words of hatred,
good men must commit themselves
to the glory of love.
-Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., submitted by Terry L., from Franklin WI
This week included a beautiful drive over to Fond du Lac for a leadership conference at Marian College. We bonded over Facebook, time & stress management, and lots of leadership strategies to help build strong communities.
The night before the conference, I watched several television programs that marked the 40th anniversary of Dr. King’s murder and was reminded of how passionately and tirelessly he worked to build a community where we all could prosper.
I wonder if you could take some action this week to build community? Get involved in a neighborhood group, take some time to expand your relationships at work or school, or just take a minute to seek out someone you think makes your community better and say THANKS!
p.s. Dr. King, we have not forgotten about your dream; we are still working on it!
