Ripples #889: Paths To Pursue.

PEBBLE
Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence.

The problem, often not discovered until late in life, is that when you look for things in life like love, meaning, motivation, it implies they are sitting behind a tree or under a rock. The most successful people in life recognize that in life they create their own love, they manufacture their own meaning, they generate their own motivation. For me, I am driven by two main philosophies, know more today about the world than I knew yesterday. And lessen the suffering of others. You’d be surprised how far that gets you.
-Neil deGrasse Tyson, shared by Pete in Sedona, AZ
PONDER
If you’ve already found a path that fills your life with joy and purpose: CONGRATS! I hope you savor it and I hope you fully cultivate its potential. If you’re still searching, or if it feels like you’ve lost your way a bit: take heart! The experience of getting lost is a necessary albeit uncomfortable part of being found. Let yourself feel sad, frustrated, tired, and even scared for a while. When you’re ready, gently remind yourself that putting yourself out there is the way to get noticed, and sampling the buffet of life is the most effective way to discover a delicious new adventure. Try something new, try something different, or try again at something you haven’t yet succeeded at.
Your contributions to the world are desperately needed; and your presence is required. I know this because….well, because you’re here.
Peace,
Paul
