World Kindness Day is this Thursday, November 13th, and I thought we’d celebrate with a couple of kindness quotes and a kindness challenge. What do you say we collectively muster some of the “ambition and dedication” Cleo references in today’s pebble to seriously amplify our UROCK mission of Unleashing Ripples Of Compassion & Kindness?
I’ve been thinking lately about how kindness can so easily slip into the background—something we intend to practice but forget when we’re rushed or stressed. Yet every time we slow down long enough to notice someone else’s needs, a small spark ignites. That spark might show up as a genuine compliment, a patient pause in traffic, or a quiet check-in with a struggling friend. Those moments don’t just help others—they soften us, too, reminding us that kindness is less a gesture and more a daily posture.
So here’s my World Kindness Day challenge: between now and Friday, find three opportunities to help kindness travel in a circle—one for a friend, one for a stranger, and one for yourself. They don’t need to be grand; in fact, the smaller and simpler, the better. Then, if you’re up for it, tell someone else what you did and invite them to pass it on. Let’s see how many ripples we can set in motion this week—each one a small step toward a kinder world.
