PEBBLE
There is: Glorious; Grand; Great; Good; and Good Enough.
Not every effort belongs in a single category.

BOULDER
Prioritize what really needs your best effort, let the rest play its role in the background, and watch how much more focused and energized you feel. It’s okay if some things get the “good enough” treatment…It doesn’t make you lazy or uncommitted—it makes you smart about where you put your energy.

PONDER
I’ve spent the last few days in a frenzy, excitedly focused on a bunch of stuff I have coming up next week. My enthusiasm for the events and the people I’ll be connecting with revved me up so much that I veered past peak productivity and drove right into a field of overwhelm. Whoops!
I knew I wanted to have this week’s Ripples all queued up and ready to go before I hit the road, but I’d gotten lost in a swirly-whirly state of mind. I wasn’t sure I had it in me to access the focus and creativity that are my reliable companions in these ripply endeavors.
Luckily, the Universe swooped in with a smile and some synchronicity. I sat down in my comfy chair, opened up my laptop and found today’s pebble and boulder already paired up on my “Ready to Ripple” document. These wise nuggets are sourced from two remarkable women that I am proud to call colleagues, co-creators, and friends, and I smiled as I imagined them sitting here with me.
I still have quite a few tasks I hope to accomplish before I depart, but now I can use em’s categories as I determine which amount of effort to give to each item on my to do list. And even though Coach Colene’s wisdom was pulled from one of her awesome Monday Morning Peptalks that go out to thousands of readers, it seemed like she had scribbled these lines out just for me…she and I both know that I have a rather persistent inner critic who can be quick to label any sign of self-care as a sure sign of laziness. Whoops, again!
Before I wind down my pondering and crank up some some fun music to help me enjoy these last few hours of more relaxed productivity, I’ll invite you to get curious about all the stuff on your plate. Which tasks need your best effort, and which ones might do just fine with Good Enough?
