We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light.

It isn’t more light we need, it’s putting into practice what light we already have. When we do that, wonderful things will happen within our lives and within our world.

We each have light within us: ideas and interests, talents and skills that can help us make a living and also help us build a meaningful, enjoyable life. Some folks find it relatively easy to identify and nurture the the gifts they have to offer the world. Others experience it as a challenge or even a complete mystery.
Whichever way you lean, I wonder if you could pause long enough in your day to identify one specific way that you’re pretty sure you make life better for yourself and those around you. It could be a work-related skill that helps you shine on the job, or maybe an aspect of your personality that others have expressed appreciation for. It could even be some really tiny, random thing you do that consistently brings light to you and/or those around you.
Once you think of something, do me a favor and thank yourself for bringing that light to the world. You’re making the world better, and that makes it more likely that others will chip in and do their part, too.
If something doesn’t immediately come to mind, maybe you can thank someone who is a consistent source of light for you. This turns out to be a pretty revolutionary act, too, because sharing your appreciation of them just might end up being a light for them
And get this…if a whole bunch of us end up being a little more aware of the light within and around us…well, isn’t that likely to help the whole world sparkle and shine a little more?
Methinks: YES!
Peace,
Paul
