We all get stuck in place on occasion. We all move backwards sometimes. Every day we must make the decision to move in the direction of our intentions. Forward is the direction of real life.

Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?

You’ll hopefully notice a few changes to our newsletter this week. We’ve been working behind the scenes on a few upgrades to help keep Ripples fresh and fabulous. Looking back, we’ve actually refreshed the design several times since we first switched from plain text email back in 2014, taking advantage of advancements that are intended to make it easier for Ripples to make it into your inbox without being labeled as spam (grrrrr,) and also make it easier and more fun to read.
I can still vividly recall my initial and longtime resistance to HTML emails…more than one person heard my rants: “Look, we’ve been sending our plain text emails for over a decade, we don’t need to get all fancy schmancy and compleximicated.” It turns out even people whose work is about helping people embrace possibilities for growth can sometimes bristle in the face of unexpected possibilities for growth!
I’m glad I was persuaded to consider some new choices and take a few chances that would align with my professed commitment to agility. I’ll admit it’s a little scary to queue up this issues, there might be bugs or hiccups on the technical end. And of course some insecurity: what if Ripplers don’t like it….or perhaps even worse: WHAT IF THEY DON’T EVEN NOTICE?
I’m going to let go of all that, because this issue is about the Move Forward! I invite you to join me by committing to at least one specific action YOU can take this week to confidently move forward in school, work, or life.
Are you in?
Peace,
Paul
