PONDER
It feels a little incongruent to focus too much on a big milestone in an email that is specifically about the ongoing impact of our smaller actions, but here’s the deal: it has now been TWENTY FIVE YEARS since we sent out the first Ripples email to 75 kind souls back in January 1999. Several of our Original Ripplers are still with us, along with over 25,000 other groovy folks who have joined us along the way.
I crossed paths with many of you during talks I’ve given at colleges, conferences, and workplace events. Plenty of others learned about Ripples from colleagues, friends, and family. I love that each week some of you let me know how a particular issue has landed at the right time in your life, and thrilled that so many have used the Submit a Quote when they encounter Ripple-worthy wisdom.
A few years ago we developed the acronym UROCK to describe our mission: Unleashing Ripples of Compassion + Kindness. Whether you’ve been receiving these Ripples for a few weeks, a few decades, or somewhere in between, please know that every time you pause for a moment to read them, and even moreso when they inspire you to take action, you’re affirming today’s Pebble by extending these ripples of compassion and kindness ever outward.
It’s been an honor and a hoot to assemble these pebbles and boulders every week for the past 25 years, and I look forward to pondering along with you for a few more because…well, UROCK!
