If you are waiting for anything in order to live and love without holding back, then you suffer. Every moment is the most important moment of your life. No future time is better than now to let down your guard and love.

I get why some people roll their eyes about Valentine’s Day, and I get why some people really get into it. For me, Valentine’s Day is an invitation to curiously think about love, to deeply feel love, and to earnestly take action on the love I hold for the many people in my life that I am privileged, honored, and excited to love. This includes my sweetie, of course. And also friends, colleagues, family, neighbors, and Ripplers, too! Oh, and I try to include myself as well, occasionally sending some self love inwardly.
Love is an idea worth thinking about. It lifts us above the small stuff that sometimes trips us up, and it reminds us that our connections are sacred, that we deserve to love and be loved.
Love is an emotion worth feeling. It strengthens our appreciation of the goodness that surrounds us while helping to heal the hurts and frustrations that inevitably accumulate while living a full life.
Love is an action worth taking. It expands our compassion, enlivens our spirit, and contributes something of indescribable and immeasurable value to the universe.
Whether you’re annoyed or excited with V-Day, I invite you to join me in thinking, feeling, and doing the lovestuff this week…and sharing it, too.
Peace,
Paul
P.S. Thank you for all the Ripply love you’ve shared these last two decades. Whether it’s reading Ripples, forwarding them on to others, submitting quotes, buying a book or treat, or supporting us through Patreon….well, these are all acts of sharing love, and each of them is sacred to me.
