Some of the secret joys of living are not found by rushing from point A to point B, but by inventing some imaginary letters along the way.

I’m in the middle of an extended road trip that allowed me to visit old and new friends at both Rowan University and Gettysburg College. As you read this, I’m headed toward Virginia where I’ll be a Hokie for a few days and fire up staff at Virginia Tech.
Because I decided to drive instead of coordinating flights and rental cars on this three-stop trip, I’ve embraced the opportunity to slow down and take small detours. It has taken a bit more time and energy but it has also added a sense of adventure to the journey.
I wonder if you could find a way to make your ride a little more lovely this week; whether you’re traveling or not, see if your life journey could be enhanced with a detour or a rest stop. This could mean a spontaneous lunch with an old friend, taking a chance to connect with someone you’d like to get to know better, or just a bit of solitude in the form of a nature walk or a new book.
It may seem like you’re too busy for such indulgences; remember that sometimes a bit of respite allows you to jump back into things with renewed energy and a sense of determination to go, go, GO!
Peace,
Paul

P.S. I am SOOOO behind on responding to messages from our loyal tribe of Ripplers. Please know that I read each and every reply, although sometimes while standing in airport lines or while filling up my gas tank. Still: thank you, thank you so much for letting me know that you enjoy reading Ripples (even the longer ones!) as much as I enjoy sending them out.
